It's been almost 6 months since Dad passed away. It was really hard in the beginning but got better as time went on. I suddenly found myself not getting teared-up when thinking about the man who raised me, taught me, nurtured me, and loved me. It's seemingly been longer NOT crying about Dad then actually shedding tears. But I found myself just yesterday thinking 'I think about him every day.' And what does that mean? When does it count as 'thinking' about them? For instance, if you drink a type of coffee and note to yourself 'oh yeah, Dad used to love this type of coffee.' Does THAT count as thinking about him or does the phrase 'I think about them every day' mean that you systematically plumb the depths of your memories and feelings in thought of that person? Every...single...day. My feeling is even if it's something as simple as 'Dad used to love apple fritters!' and then you go on mowing the yard or fixing a fridge shelf or whatever and then your brain gets distracted with one of the 10 million other things it 'chews on' , then I think that counts. If just that sort of thing happens 4 days out of the 7 in a week, every week, I think that counts as 'thinking' about that person every day. Agree? Disagree?
